Easily accessible ski pistes and cross-country ski trails, abundant, branching hiking paths and cycling routes, pristine golf courses and tennis courts and, not least, the refreshing Badewelt swimming complex – St. Johann shows off its sporting side all year round.

Fascination with nature

A resort with many faces – whatever you look for in a holiday, you will find it here. Secluded nature trails, mountain ranges just asking to be conquered all around the Kitzbüheler Horn and Wilder Kaiser, romantic hamlets and an enchanting old village centre. Add in numerous sporting and cultural pursuits and an endless number of quaint inns, where staff will be happy to serve you a lovingly prepared local snack, the ‘Tiroler Marend’.

A traditional winter sport highlight is the annual ‘Koasalauf’. Every February, the traditional cross-country ski event attracts more than 2000 participants from all over the world to the Wilder Kaiser region.

Cable car within walking distance

Just a ten-minute walk away lies the cable car valley station at Harschbichl, the local name for our side of the Kitzbüheler Horn. An even faster option – taking just five minutes or so – is the free ski bus, which stops right outside our front door. Your guest card is your free ticket for the bus.

It’s even easier for cross-country skiers, as the nearest ski trail is just a five-minute walk from our building.

As a guest at our hotel, you can make use of another attractive offer to help save your pennies: you can get a 10% discount on products and courses at local ski hire outlets and ski schools.

Winter sport region

Immaculate ski pistes and long cross-country trails make the Kitzbühel Alps, which are blessed by an abundance of snow, a popular setting for winters sports for all levels of experience. The St. Johann ski resort in Tyrol alone has 43 kilometres of pistes and 17 ski lifts – compelling enough reasons in themselves for a visit to the region. A fully automatic artificial snow system ensures downhill fun can be had easily, even if the weather has other ideas in mind.

A mere 20-minute drive will take you to the neighbouring ski resorts of Kitzbühel, Wilder Kaiser, Fieberbrunn, Steinplatte/Waidring and Pillersee/Buchensteinwand.
If you don’t want to settle for one single resort, the Super Ski Card will give you access to 23 ski regions in Tyrol and Salzburg with just a single card – that’s more than 2750 kilometres of pistes and 937 lift facilities.

Cross-country skiers will also find the perfect setting for enjoying sport in natural surroundings in the Kitzbühel Alps, with more than 250 kilometres of carefully prepared ski trails. What’s more, use of these cross-country trails, which all have the Tyrol cross-country quality seal, is free of charge for guests.

Outdoor swimming pool

Our guests can enjoy free daily entry to Panorama Badewelt in St. Johann, just a three-minute walk away from the hotel. You can spend either three hours in the indoor pool, or the whole day in the outdoor pool during the summer months.

The complex has extensive facilities to suit your personal rhythm: it is a place to relax, if you simply want to switch off. But it’s also a lively fitness centre, if you feel like getting your body into sport mode. Aquafit, tennis, football and beach volleyball are just a few of the many activities you can enjoy here.

Whether you head for the sauna area or the relaxation zones, or have a rejuvenating massage; or perhaps you fancy the temperature-controlled pool with water jets, the sport pool, the water slide or the pirate ship in the adventure playground – there is a perfect activity for each and every visitor to Panorama Badewelt.

Out and about in nature

Rugged ridges, unspoilt mountainsides, lush dairy pastures and picturesque wildflower meadows – Tyrol paints this beautiful still life for its visitors every summer. Over 200 kilometres of marked hiking trails spread like a finely woven web over St. Johann in Tyrol and its neighbouring towns of Oberndorf, Kirchdorf and Erpfendorf.

At our reception desk, you can get up-to-date walking maps for your own personal overview, in addition to local insider recommendations on the most attractive and exhilarating paths in the area.

What’s more, you can use the St. Johann Card, which is included in your booking, to join a guided hike for free.

The routes and trails that await mountain bikers, racing cyclists, touring cyclists and e-bikers in the Kitzbühel Alps region also easily exceed the 200-kilometre mark in terms of their total distance. In addition, you can conveniently and inexpensively hire e-bikes directly at the hotel. A well-developed network of charging stations ensures that you won’t run out of power en route.

Par excellence

Professionally designed golf courses at international tournament standard have been blended into the region’s unspoilt, archaic mountain landscape, providing a unique backdrop that you can only find here in the Kitzbühel Alps.

More than ten different golf courses are within an hour’s drive. With a Golf Alpin Card, you have the luxury of choice: it gives you entry to more than 30 golf courses in Tyrol and the province of Salzburg. You can buy a card, and your freedom to pick and choose, for EUR 340 (for five green fees) at Golf Alpin partners.
